Bang Bang Education

A Russian education platform for designers, artists, and researchers of visual culture. Founded in 2015, it brings together online courses, lectures, workshops, and intensives led by practitioners from the industry.

Context

The product was scaling: new formats appeared — professions, special projects, a career center. Older interfaces were fragmented, overloaded, and no longer supported that growth.

The long-term goal was to rebuild key user scenarios and bring interfaces into one style and logic — from the homepage to the personal account — while supporting new directions, seasonal projects, and developing the design system.

My responsibility

Full redesign of the homepage (in 2 iterations)
Profession and special-project landings, including adaptation for the CIS market
Growing the design library (short online courses with leading industry specialists)
Updating the course showcase for a new direction
Developing the IT track within Bang Bang Education
Preparing a unified course showcase for the Ultimate Education holding
Special projects (e.g. summer collab with Skyeng, contest with Alfa-Bank, year-in-review landing)
Course entry flow: application form, auth, start screens
Referral system and pages for the career center
Components for the design system and page templates for the team

I worked solo: aligned with producers, collected user feedback, and owned design from idea to release.

How I worked

We also redesigned form pages — for example feedback and email subscription flows.

What improved

Fewer support tickets — reworked purchase and entry so fewer “where is my course” and “what next” questions
Faster page launches — built a UI component system for landings so the team ships course and promo pages quicker
Stronger brand trust through the interface — cut noise, simplified copy; cleaner UI closer to the brand voice
Clearer purchase and course access — simplified profile structure, statuses, and actions so users knew where they were and what came next
Higher conversion to application and purchase in A/B tests — rebuilt profession landings around course value and social proof (reviews, certificates); shorter funnel, stronger motivation
